Consume. Consume. Consume.Posted Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 7:35 PM
It's amazing what money can buy.
Political ads overstuffed with lies. Car collections packed away tightly, just waiting for a cruise. Lap dogs without leashes. And guns for protection that may never even get used. Buy some more. For now and for later. Consume and throw away what we do not intend to use. If someone else has it, then we must make the purchase too. Big screen TVs in every room. Trade in the vehicle. Make mine new. If we get overstuffed, just rent some metal storage space. Consume. Consume. Consume. Cable TV, TiVo or DISH? Decisions. Decisions. Oh what to do? Fast food, organic and new trendy diet foods. Remodel the kitchen and take the old out for trash. If your neighbors are doing it, then so must you. Cell phones, iPods and BlackBerries galore. Buy some quickly. Score! Score! Score! Upgrade that computer. It simply must do more. The latest fashions. Last year's will not do. Paris, Britney and Lindsay headlining the cover of tabloids and the news. Never mind the war, what are we supposed to do? Turn on the tube, flip the channel and consume. |
