This one's for Rams

For those of you who don't know him-- just let me tell you that he is a fine, young man.

For a 12-year old, he certainly has a heart of gold. He's the type of kid that would give you the shirt off his back-- unless of course you happen to be his little brother.

Anyway, last week he was honored at AWANA. He received a trophy and a sportsmanship certificate.

Now, being recognized is not what this story is about. It's about what he did after the fact.

Some kids were honored during this event and some were not. But, what Rams taught me was that real winners are those who have the ability to look past themselves.

Jazz (AKA little brother) and I were there when Rams received his awards. But, we left early so Papa brought Rams home.

When he got home I quickly asked to see his awards and he replied, "I gave them away."

He then explained that he felt his cousin, Lex, and her sister, Allison, deserved the awards. Now, neither girl had received an award at the event-- but according to Rams they had worked hard and were just as deserving as he.

Wow.

What a kid.

Apparently, on the ride home with Papa and the girls he had this epiphany. Both girls were upset about not 'winning' so Rams did something about it.

He later told me, "They worked real hard. They just couldn't finish their (AWANA) books."

Rams you give me hope for the future.

As a 12-year old you are simply amazing.

I can only imagine what you will accomplish as an adult.
