Anger writes easier than Love

Posted Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at 10:39 AM

As printed in the Tuesday, July 14 edition of the Greene County Daily World.

You'd think after writing this viewpoint for more than four years it would get easier.

But, it just gets harder.

Anger writes easier than love.

Love is hard to share with an audience of strangers.

It is personal.

And sacred.

And people shouldn't be allowed to stomp all over it.

But, they do.

The more viewpoints I write the less I have to complain about.

Complaining is like being angry in a nicer way.

It uses complete sentences.

And it's not too loud.

Complaining has reservations about expressing anger.

But anger -- it shouts.

And by the time it has blistered its last stench it's too late to look back.

Anger comes so very easy.

But love, it writes hard.

It takes patience.

And understanding.

Love isn't found on paper.

It's not in these words.

Love is a feeling.

A warmth from within.

And yet love can be vulnerable.

Sharing your heart takes work.

It's looking within and sharing with others what you have found.

To look inside is one thing.

But having the courage to share it can be like opening a wound.

It causes pain.

Love writes hard.

You can give love and get used-- or smacked around and put down.

Anger is so easy.

It's like seeking shelter from the pain.

It hurts but it's a safe place to hide.

Love is so hard.

It's like sharing the intimate and praying for more light.

There's no hiding in love.

It's everywhere-- just sitting there waiting to be misunderstood.

And it is.

Love writes hard.

It gets tangled and tossed about.

It gets spit on.

And misunderstood.

Love shines light where there is none.

Bit by bit.

Little by little.

Love stands alone in the darkness-- where anger lurks about.

But, this little light of mine you know I'm gonna let it shine.

Let it shine, Let it shine. Good article.

You make a good point. I used to race here to read what others wrote, knowing your 'stalkers' lurked here, just waiting for the opportunity to slam you. Then I got tired of arguing with them, so I stopped contributing. I guess, in the end, what matters is that you write from the heart, and those with honest hearts will understand your message. Keep writing for us. We read with the eyes of understanding and appreciate your luminescent words that shine into the darkness to touch our minds and hearts. Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into your articles.

it doesnt matter what you write about you are not going to be able to please everyone.......thats just a price you pay as being a journalist.

that should be recognized in the title "view point" whether it be yours, mines, or so called angry readers. everyone is entitled to their view.

Are you talking about what you write on here or what others post as comments on here?
