It's never fun when the server goes down while writing a columnPosted Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at 8:31 AM
Sitting at home, now writing the second version of this column. The first one was about spring, but that was before I went out into this cold weather. And it was also before the server went down at work.
It's never a good sign when the server goes down on a Monday morning. That's when all work at the office basically stopped. And so did my writer's trance. I was able to save the first version of this column, but unable to send it into my e-mail. Unfortunately, the writer's trance has not returned. And it probably won't ... So here I sit with a half-empty page. I thought I might actually be able to wait the downtime out ... that's when I went to the bank as well as the coffee house. Nonetheless when I returned to the office, the server was still down. Then I chatted with Teana -- who was working the front desk for Becky who's in Brazil being trained to upsell. I bet you're loving that, Beck! Nothing else to report on ... except that I'm suffering from a bout of writer's block. Enough of this silliness, I must wrap this up. I'm expecting a call from a soldier in Iraq -- Sgt. Dan Templeton. Apparently, he's been honored for a recent heroic act. But it looks like I'll have to talk to him tomorrow. I do know his mom (Candace) is extremely proud and also wants to share the good news. Until next time ... take care and see you around. Comments have been disabled for this blog post. |
