Another day's work...Posted Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 2:23 PM
It's the end of August and as cliché as it may sound, where did the summer go to?
Well, I guess it's not over yet, is it? According to the 2010 calendar, the first day of autumn is Sept. 23 -- which is also the date of the next full moon. I like a good full moon, there's something magical about this lunar phase. But, then again many attribute a full moon to madness, superstition and crazy criminals. I say whatever floats your boat. Speaking of calendars, I'm working extra hard booking my husband's full of gigs. It's funny because there's something about wheeling and dealing dates and pay that I truly enjoy. It's also a pleasure for me to meet new people who do not associate me as a reporter, but I also enjoy doing business with familiar faces. It's the reinvention of self that I wrote about in last week's column. Another cliché for you, hard work does pay off. Who could argue that one? (Well, I'm sure someone reading this would take a lot of pleasure in an argument, put-down or snide comment directed toward anyone willing to take it on ... ) Not me. I don't have the energy to waste on any additional nonsense. I have a life to live and there's a lot on my plate. Bills to pay, calls to make, laundry to do, kids to feed, stories to write, dreams to be made and lots of new places to go ... * You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. -- C.S.
