Still writing....

Posted Monday, March 28, 2011, at 11:27 AM

I spend my Monday mornings writing this column. On most days I try my best to give the readers something positive to start the week out with.

But, today is different. Today I'm letting you all in on a little secret. After some long thought about this writing gig, I've concluded that writing a book is my next step.

I've already started it and as a journalist I'm deadline-oriented, so it's not like I'm planning on taking years to complete it. I figure if I am required to report on two stories a day plus a column a week (not including tab assignments) an extra bit of writing isn't going to kill me, is it? I mean the least it can do is help me get a lot off my chest. And that makes me smile just thinking about it...

Besides I have plenty to write about and not having any experience in penning a book possibly begets some beginner's luck or at least a Zen mind set.

Something new, something fresh...

Just thinking about it tickles my fancy. Oh yes, it ignites an inner fire that makes me smile from ear to ear.

You do know how good it feels to get something off your chest, don't you? Well, if you do... then you know just exactly how I feel.

But, I'm not spilling all the details on it yet. It's a work in progress that is not bound by the hard edge of news, yet it will share truth.

* And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt. ~Sylvia Plath
