Sping has arrived
Posted Tuesday, March 23, at 10:01 AM
It may still be a little cold outside but warmer temperatures are not far off. While taking a walk the other day I saw bluegills near the surface and thought it won't be long and I'll be panfishing. With all the snow cover we had this past winter we will see if the old tales are true about the more snow cover you have the better the mushroom hunting is...

An Outdoor Life Style
Posted Thursday, November 19, at 11:20 AM

We spend a lot of time outdoors, whether it's hunting, fishing, gathering wild eatable, cutting firewood or just working on our home. It's the simple things that give us the most enjoyment. It's great to get that big buck or catch your limit, but it's not always about that. It's about being outdoors relaxing, getting away from the everyday stresses of life and we are blessed here in Greene County to have many opportunities to get outdoors...

We talked with Shawn about trail conditions and we saw the trail crew out on the trail system putting rock in some of the worst ruts and filling water holes. Also we hear that a better trail map will be available soon...

Spring is here
Posted Friday, March 27, at 12:48 PM

With a little warmer weather, fishing has picked up bluegills and crappies have been biting pretty good. If you like to use a fly rod for pan fish you can have a great time catching fish on a top water popper, not to mention a good meal. Turkey season is not far off, beginning on April 22nd and running thru May 10th. I have seen ole tom turkey out in full strut already, so it's time to get out and do some scouting to be ready for the season opener...

Well here we are, most of the hunting seasons are over. And those seasons that are still open will be over soon. While some had a very productive year, others did not. But it's not about the game you take it's about being outdoors. There was a short time when some were able to get out and do some Ice fishing, and those folks seemed to have done very well on bluegills...

Over the few weeks I have had some excellent outdoor experiences. A friend ask if I would like to go waterfowl hunting with him. I did and had a lot of fun hunting ducks and geese. I hadn't been waterfowl hunting in 34 years and on our first hunt I shot my limit of ducks and later In the week I shot my limit of geese and that's not because I'm a great wing shooter it's because I hunted with a guy that knows how and where to go. Thanks Dennis...
