Hunting, Fishing, Birding or

I had a comment asking what I thought about the ongoing discussion about Hunting, Fishing, Birding, Hiking or just plain enjoying the outdoors at Goose Pond Fish & wildlife Area.

As for the naysayers, I don't believe the mosquitoes or snakes are any worse than they have ever been.

Like I have said before, we do not have a mosquito or a snake problem here. As far as snakes are concerned, snakes have been getting into out buildings forever.

Goose Pond is going back to what it is suppose to be a wetland, It has been a wetland since the last ice age and that's what it's going to be.

We never here about the money that was wasted trying to drain it and those efforts always failed.

When GPF&WA was being put together many groups came together to help with getting funding and support to start this Fish & Wildlife Area. We need to maintain this cooperation between all outdoor enthusiasts to move ahead with development of GPF&WA.

There is room for many outdoor pursuits at GP it is a very diverse Property with room for all.

Deer hunting, Waterfowl hunting, and other hunting seasons are underway, fall Fishing is still going on, Birding and Hiking are being enjoyed it's a great time to be outdoors taking advantage of our wealth of outdoors opportunities we have here in Greene County.

So get out there and support our local DNR properties through use and support our local businesses that lean toward outdoor people and their equipment.
