Pan Fish on a Fly Rod
With a little warmer weather, fishing has picked up bluegills and crappies have been biting pretty good. If you like to use a fly rod for pan fish you can have a great time catching fish on a top water popper, not to mention a good meal.

Turkey season is not far off, beginning on April 22nd and running thru May 10th. I have seen ole tom turkey out in full strut already, so it's time to get out and do some scouting to be ready for the season opener.

Some of the flowering trees are already in full bloom and how beautiful they are in this time of rebirth.

Mushroom time is just a few weeks away. It won't be long before we have a skillet full of morels and bluegills.

Spring migrating birds have been moving thru Goose Pond. I'm still amazed at how many different bird species we have, with 106 at last count.

In the night sky, Sirus in the constellation Canis Major is the brightest sky object for the month of April. The Fullmoon on April 9th is called the sprouting grass moon, other names are egg moon, fish moon and pink moon.

Greene County is a great place to be able to enjoy the outdoors and what a privilege it is.
