Blind Rooster joins L-S Chamber

Welcome new Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce member Blind Rooster.

Owned by David Benefiel, the Blind Rooster specializes in antiques and collectibles, primitive accents, shabby chic decor, glassware, pottery, recycled/adaptive reuse items.

Located at 49 N. Main (inside the Strawberry Patch), stop in to pick up a vintage item for your home or a unique gift.

* The Chamber's annual dinner and awards banquet is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 21 at the Linton Elks Lodge.

Our speaker this year will be Captain Charles LaSota from NSWC Crane. Captain LaSota will have a slide presentation for us and will be taking questions from the floor.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 6:30. This is open to the public. Cost per person is $22, and a table for eight can be reserved for $150. The Chamber will be recognizing our Business of the Year and our Citizen of the Year.

Tickets for this event are available at the Chamber office. We will again be offering a large selection of items for raffle. This year's raffle items will include a 500 Festival ticket package, Pacer tickets and an over-night stay at the French Lick Resort and Casino.

* We are gearing up for our annual Spring Expo. This year's event will be Saturday, March 6 at the Linton National Guard Armory. The doors open to the public at 8:30 am.

There is no cost for the public to attend. Businesses if you are interested in purchasing a booth, please contact the Chamber office for more details.

* The Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce, the Martin County Chamber of Commerce and the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and offering a 10-day trip to Ireland from Nov. 2-11. The trip will include eight breakfasts and five dinners and will visit Dublin, Kilkenny, Blarney Castle, Killarny, Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Galway, a Castle Stay, and a tour of Waterford Crystal.

Additional tours are available at a separate cost.

Only festivals that meet criteria set by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development will be approved for placement on VisitIndiana.com. Please allow three weeks for information to appear on VisitIndiana.com. If you are a member of the Indiana State Festivals Association, you will still need to enter your 2010 festival(s) into the Ad Portal.

* Chamber members: The Heritage House and Francis Jewel Box will proudly present "Bridal Showcase & Tasting Luncheon" at The Heritage House, 190 N. MainSt., Linton.

Bridal Showcase is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan 31, 2010 with free admission, at The Heritage House Banquet Hall. There will be many and varied vendors in this venue, along with samples, drawings and prizes.

The "Tasting Luncheon" will be from noon to 2 p.m., at a cost of $12 per person, or $20 per couple. A luncheon will be in The Heritage House Supper Club. The luncheon will include a large sampler platters of appetizers, salad, main course, deserts and of course wedding cake.
