Chamber Fish Fry set for FridayPosted Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 1:16 PM
Just a reminder that Friday is the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce's spring fish fry at the Roy Clark Community Building from 4-8 p.m.
Tickets are available at the Chamber office or at Angell's Food Center. Advance tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets will be available at the door for an additional $1 per person. The menu will include fish, baked beans, slaw and homemade desserts. Available to drink will be tea and lemonade. Proceeds from the fish fry benefit the Freedom Festival fireworks display. * The Chamber's May meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20 at the Old Bank & Company Restaurant. The speaker will be Sen. Lindel Hume. This meeting is open to members and their guests. Cost for lunch is $8.00 per person. Sen. Hume will be updating members on the very interesting legislative session this year. We ask that you please RSVP to the Chamber office so we have plenty of seating and food. * The Freedom Festival is just around the corner. Now is the time to start planning your parade float entries. Entry forms are available at the Chamber office or on the Freedom Festival website www.lintonfreedomfestival.org. This year's parade theme is "Looking Back/Reaching Forward." The Freedom Open is scheduled for Saturday, June 11 at the Phil Harris Golf Course. This is a 2-man, 27-hole flighted tournament. This tournament is an alternate shot format. The day includes lunch, tee packs, door prizes, hole challenge prizes and tee packs. For more information contact the course at 847-4790. * The Freedom Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 18 at the Linton-Stockton High School track. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race beginning at 8 a.m. Pre-registration forms are available on the Freedom Festival website at www.lintonfreedomfestival.org . * The annual Freedom Cruise-In will be on Saturday, June 25 at Humphreys Park. Nearly 200 cars will gather at the park for a day of fellowship and fun. Food and kids games will be available in the park that day as well as the Red Cross Blood Mobile. * WorkOne has the following workshops on their upcoming calendar. Wednesday, May 4 is Creating Strong Resumes in ICC at 9 a.m. and Friday, May 6 is Budgeting and Financial Literacy at 2 p.m. All workshops are free of charge but you do need to pre-register by calling 847-4479.
