Our March meeting will be held at Greene County General Hospital on Tuesday, March 15 at Noon. We will be in their conference room and will be hearing from a panel of speakers from the hospital. Watch for additional details.
Please mark your calendars for our April 19 meeting. This will be at Glenburn Home at noon and we have a speaker from Midland Institute talking about their CEO program. We want to encourage all members to join us and hear this important presentation. We have also secured our speaker for the May 17 meeting. Glenda Ritz, Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Indiana will be our speaker in May.

Join us in welcoming a new Chamber Members! R&H Floor Store, located at 12883 W. SR 54, Linton, has joined the Chamber. They offer a variety of floor coverings for residential and commercial use. They are a professional trade association representing realtors in Monroe, Owen and Greene Counties.

The Chamber and Freedom Festival are getting into full swing with our activities and events. We kick off our events on the weekend of April 16 and 17 with our first motocross for the year. This is always a great family event. Then mark your calendars and plan to join us on Thursday, April 28 for our Spring Fish Fry. Please note this fish fry is on a Thursday evening and not a Friday. We will have additional details on these events in the upcoming weeks.
City Wide Yard Sale date is Saturday, May 21! We encourage everyone to join in the day's fun and have a yard sale. Not interested in hosting your own yard sale but have items you need to clean out of your house and garage? The Chamber will again be hosting a yard sale booth at State Farm Insurance, Tracy D. Keen's office. If you have items you would like to donate to our yard sale, please feel free to drop them off at the Chamber office or Tracy's office.
The Greene '16 Committee is having a clean-up day at Goose Pond from 9 to 12 on February 27. The state has a new way of tracking its volunteer hours and asks that anyone wishing to volunteer sign up as a volunteer prior to the event. Those wishing to volunteer can register at www.wildlife.in.gov/8301.htm. The event is labeled as Goose Pond Work Day. We ask that volunteers meet us at 1815 HWY 59 South. From there, we will go to designated areas to start clean-up. We'll provide trash bags, but ask that volunteers bring work gloves. Greene County Relay for Life is in full swing. They will be meeting March 10, from 6 to 8 at White River Valley High School. If you would like to put together a team, consider sponsoring the event, please feel free to join them on March 10. Greene County General Hospital is offering yoga classes every Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. Classes are in the conference room on the ground floor. Please bring your own mat. While recommended you contribute $5 per class, it is not required. For more information contact Amy at 812-847-5223.
Glenburn Community Center will be on the road again on March 9 to see Sister Act at the Beef & Boards theater in Indianapolis and on April 21 a trip to Petersburg, KY is planned for a visit to the Creation Museum and May 19 a day trip to Bardstown, KY is on the calendar. Autumn Trace of Greene County will be holding public information session on Thursday, February 25 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Worthington Public Library. The meeting is open to the public and RSVPs are not needed. There will be light refreshments served. Greene 16 calendars are available in the Chamber office. The calendars are $10 each and benefit the county's Bicentennial efforts in 2016. The calendar's contain photographs of county landmarks.
Linton VFW has their Taco Tuesdays each Tuesday serving from 5-8 p.m.. Dine-in is available in their Family Room or carry out is available.
Linton Moose Lodge is now serving hamburgers and fries every Wednesday evening beginning 2 p.m.; cost is $5.
