A big thank you to everyone who attended our Tuesday Chamber meeting at Glenburn Home. Our speakers educated those in attendance on the CEO program from Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship. Our office has made arrangements to visit three area CEO classes. If you would like to visit a class, please notify our office. We also have the dates for the area CEO trade shows and will be happy to share those with you as well. Mark your calendar and plan to join us on May 17 for our next meeting. Glenda Ritz, Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Indiana will be our speaker. Additional details will be coming next week on our May meeting. As a reminder, our meetings are open to all Chamber members and their guests.

Thursday, April 28 will be our spring fish fry. Proceeds from this event benefit the Freedom Festival fireworks. Advance tickets are $8 for adults ($4 for kids) and are available at the Chamber office. Dinner will include fish, baked beans, slaw, dessert and drink. The second motocross weekend for 2016 will be April 30 and May 1. We had a near record number of riders last weekend. Mother Nature provided us with wonderful weather. Mark your calendar and plan to spend a part of your weekend next week watching the riders compete. The LSHS Junior Class and Tastee Creations concession trailer are on site to provide concessions. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy your afternoon.
City Wide Yard Sale:
Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 21! That's the date for this year's city wide yard sales. Once again the Chamber will be hosting at booth at State Farm Insurance, Tracy D. Keen's office. If you have items you would like to donate to our yard sale, please feel free to drop them off at the Chamber office or Tracy's office.
Launch Your Own Business Workshops
The Chamber is partnering with South Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) to host Launch Your Own Business Workshops. If you know anyone interested in owning their own business? Our first workshop will be Wednesday, May 25 at the Chamber Office from Noon-2 PM. This is a brown bag lunch workshop and a cost of $25 to cover the instructor and materials is required. Brinson Family Chiropractic will be hosting their Grand Opening and Customer Appreciate Day on May 10. They have a wide variety of activities and booths setting up for the day including a hot dog cookout, free chair massages, SAFE Animal Pet Rescue adoptions, Sparky the Fire Dog AND much more!
Greene County General Hospital just celebrated their first baby to be born in the Sweet Dreams Baby Bundles program. GCGH launched this program in late 2015 to help combat Indiana's higher infant mortality rate. This program has been officially endorsed as an Indiana Bicentennial Commission Legacy Project.

Relay for Life will be May 13 at WVR from 6 PM -- Midnight. Teams can still register at: www.relayforlife.org/greenecountyin or via by calling 877-957-7848.
Baesler's Market has upcoming events. May 14 from 11:00 AM -- 2:00 PM will be their annual Relay for Life Ribeye cookout. A ribeye sandwich, chips and soda will be available for $5 with one dollar per purchase being donated to Relay For Life. On May 21 from 11:00 AM -- 2:00 PM the Switz City Christian Church will be having a hotdog/hamburger fundraiser at Baesler's. Funds are being raised for a Haiti missions trip.
Greene County Shrine Club has begun their Friday evening meals. May 6 they will be serving Mexican and on May 20 they will be having steaks. Dinner begins at 6 PM.
Glenburn Community Center will be on the road again on May 19 for a day trip to Bardstown, KY. June 22 they will be traveling to Myers Dinner Theater in Hillsboro, IN to see the musical Happy Days and July 26 a visit to New Harmony's Red Geranium is planned.
