As a reminder, our meetings are open to all Chamber members and their guests.The 2016 Freedom Festival is just around the corner. Are you starting to think about your entry into this year's parade? Our theme for 2016 is Hoosier Heroes. Parade forms are available at the Chamber office or at www.lintonfreedomfestival.org. Events leading up to July 4 include the Scholarship Pageant on June 4 at Linton-Stockton high School Auditeria, the Colors of Freedom Fun Run on June 10 at Humphrey's Park, our Freedom 5K Run/Fitness Walk on June 18 at LSHS Track. The Classic Car Show kicks off the week-long celebration in Humphreys Park on June 25. The James Gang Carnival will be in Humphreys Park from June 27-July 4. Watch for additional details on these events in the upcoming weeks.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 21. That's the date for this year's city wide yard sales. Once again the Chamber will be hosting at booth at State Farm Insurance, Tracy D. Keen's office. If you have items you would like to donate to our yard sale, please feel free to drop them off at the Chamber office or Tracy's office.The Chamber is partnering with South Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) to host Launch Your Own Business Workshops. If you know anyone interested in owning their own business? Our first workshop will be Wednesday, May 25 at the Chamber Office from Noon-2 p.m.. This is a brown bag lunch workshop and a cost of $25 to cover the instructor and materials is required. Workshop is limited to 8 participants. The Chamber is partnering with WTWO/WAWV to offer a digital marketing informational workshop on Tuesday, May 24 at 8:30-9:30 a.m.. This will be held at the Linton Elks Lodge. There is a $10 registration fee per business. If you are a member of the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce, this workshop is free of charge. Jena Robertson from WTWO/WAWV, will be educating the attendees on how to improve your digital (online) presence.
Brinson Family Chiropractic will be hosting their Grand Opening and Customer Appreciate Day on May 10. They have a wide variety of activities and booths setting up for the day including a hot dog cookout, free chair massages, SAFE Animal Pet Rescue adoptions, Sparky the Fire Dog AND much more

Greene County General Hospital will be presenting free wellness seminars at WestGate Academy on Wednesdays. This is a monthly series beginning May 11 at Noon. The wellness seminars are designed to help employees and companies meet wellness goals. The seminars will be timed for lunch-hour attendance and will focus on topics such as occupational health, nutrition, exercise, and home health care tips. Baesler's Market has upcoming events. May 14 from 11 a.m. -- 2 p.m. will be their annual Relay for Life Ribeye cookout. A ribeye sandwich, chips and soda will be available for $5 with one dollar per purchase being donated to Relay For Life. On May 21 from 11 a.m. -- 2 p.m. the Switz City Christian Church will be having a hotdog/hamburger fundraiser at Baesler's. Funds are being raised for a Haiti missions trip.
Linton Glass Company will again be hosting a Customer Appreciation Day. This year's event will be May 20 from 11 a.m. -- 2 p.m.. They will again be serving pulled pork sandwiches and sides from their very own Rubb'n Meat Packin Heat BBQ team.
Greene County Shrine Club will be holding their spring spot shoot on May 14. Registration begins at 8 a.m.. For additional information call 812.830.2606.
Glenburn Community Center will be on the road again on May 19 for a day trip to Bardstown, KY. June 22 they will be traveling to Myers Dinner Theater in Hillsboro, IN to see the musical Happy Days and July 26 a visit to New Harmony's Red Geranium is planned. Watch for later news blasts that will showcase their August and September trips.
