Mayor Wilkes to be June speaker at Chamber meeting
Our June meeting will be Tuesday, June 21 at Pleasant Grove Farm south of Linton in the Goose Pond FWA. Our June speaker will be Mayor John Wilkes. Baesler's Market will be catering our meal. Cost will be $10 per person.
We will not be meeting in July. Our August meeting is set for Tuesday, August 16 with Congressman Bucshon as our speaker. As a reminder, our meetings are open to all Chamber members and their guests.

We are on countdown to the Linton Freedom Festival Independence Day Parade. Do you have your parade entry in yet? Our theme for 2016 is Hoosier Heroes. Parade forms are available at the Chamber office or at www.lintonfreedomfestival.org.

Congratulations to Makayla Fulton, our 2016 Freedom Festival Queen and to Crislyn Woods our 2016 Freedom Festival Princess. They were crowned on June 4. Hunter House was the first runner up in the Queen competition and Brooklyn Hoffeditz was the first runner up in the Princess competition. These four young ladies will be representing the Freedom Festival during the month of June at our many activities.
Our first Colors of Freedom Fun Run was last Friday at Humphreys Park. We want to thank everyone who participated in this event. What a great time! We want to thank Artisan Electronics, City Pest Control, Greene County General Hospital, Greene County Daily World and JSeven Sports Grille for sponsoring color stations for the evening.

June 25 kicks off our week long Freedom Festival activities with the Car Show in Humphreys Park. Cars will begin registering at 9 a.m. and the show will conclude around 3 p.m.
The Little Miss Sparkler/Mr. Firecracker and Baby Freedom contests begin at 6:30 p.m. in Humphreys Park. Anyone wishing to participate in this competition must pre-register by noon on Friday, June 24 There will be no registrations at the door.
Following the Little Miss/Mr/Baby contests, we will have our annual karaoke contests. Cash prizes are awarded to the top two finalists in ages 16 and under and 17 and over. Register with the DJ the evening of the event.
June 26 will feature Adam Crabb in concert at 7 p.m. This is sponsored by Linton Assembly of God. It is recommended to arrive early to get a great place in the lawn.

Two LSCC members, The Greene County Daily World and Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC, will highlight members of our community who are making a difference in our lives. GCDW readers are being asked to nominate someone you feel has made a difference in our community. Forms are due to the GCDW on or before 5 p.m. July 29.
Glenbun Home will be a meeting location for Griefshare grief recovery seminar and support. Griefshare will meet each Friday at 6-7:30 p.m., starting June 17, 2016.
