Operation: Food Fight - Matt's Toss

A few month's ago Chris Wathen wrote a blog about the Restaurant Inspections. Since then, I have joined as a blogger on the newspaper website with my area of interest being food. Seeing the conflict of interest, Chris and I have decided to work together to bring the readers an up-to-date, and more complete review of restaurant inspections. Without further ado, here we go.

I will give the name of the establishment and the date it was last inspected. If there was not an inspection report or the report was older that 1 year, I will put an N/A. I will tell the total violations and the number of critical violations along with reporting on each critical violation. I will end each report with the date that all violations were corrected.

Arby's - 5/8/2008 - 11 Total, 3 Critical - Spray bottles of toxic chemicals not clearly labeled, Food containers in walk-in not labeled with use-by date, Ice scoop has a crack and is in poor repair - 5/18/2008

Linton BP - 8/12/2008 - 1 Total, 1 Critical - Chemicals stored next to and above fountain cup lids and fountain syrup - At time of inspection

Casey's Jasonville - 5/23/2008 - 9 Total, 5 Critical - 2 spray bottles holding toxic chemicals not labeled, Cheese Sauce in hot holding unit not at proper temp., Raw shell eggs stored directly on top of ready-to-eat foods, Air gap not provided for ice machine drain, Hot water not provided at three hand sinks - 5/30/2008

If you are looking for a certain establishment and cant find it here, look at Chris' Throw. If you still cannot find it, call the Health Department. I am only reporting on the folders that were released to me.

this is very interesting to me..why are there so many businesses that have not been checked out and why arent they all being checked out more frequently??
