Every Ounce CountsPosted Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at 8:41 PM
So far as a group, we have lost 59 pounds. That is pretty darn good if I say so myself. Let's keep it up.
This past week I lost another 1.4 pounds. I have lost a total of 19 pounds and my new weight is 304.4 pounds. I am only 4.4 pounds away from my first goal. I am going to try to reach that goal before March. How did you do this week? Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Another Pound Bites The Dust

My weigh in is on Saturday, but I wanted to let you know that my highest ever weight was 314 lbs. I hit that in 1999. I quit smoking late in 1994, and for the next five years, I substituted eating a lot of pizza and ice cream for smoking, then hit that lofty goal. That year, I had two "cardiac incidents" and got Type II diabetes. I ended up with a stent in my heart and I take a handful of pills every day, but, I did manage to lose 50 lbs (my weight right now is 264), and have kept it off. So long as I keep on track, my blood sugar, blood pressure and lipids stay in range.
I only mention this stuff because no matter where you start, going down any amount is good for your health and adds years to your life. I walk consistently now, and am in much better overall health now at age 56 than I was 11 years ago at age 45. This is true even though I am still far from my goal.
So, like you say Matt, every ounce counts, and keep it up. Losing 10% of your body weight produces good health benefits.
I managed to gain two pounds this week. Getting back on track this week by writing down everything I'm eating and I have a goal to workout for 20 minutes at least 3 times this week. I've already had one workout so far so good.
I lost 3.8 pounds, bringing my total lost to 22.8 pounds. My current weight is 217.2 pounds.
Just the fact that I'm posting on this blog is the reason I'm sticking to it.
Thanks Matt for doing this.
It is too late for me to join in the group?
Great job so far guys and gals!
