Somehow I must have signed myself up for the livestrong.com emails. I guess I was looking up the nutrition information on some food or another, probably for a restaurant, and somehow signed myself up. Anyway the other day, I received an email about the 10 worst foods for kids and the top 10 snacks to lose weight.
As you can imagine the kids list is pretty standard. Sugar. Candy. Sugary cereal. French fries. Hot dogs. Pretty much what every kid in America eats. As for the snacks, I was surprised to see some of the suggestions. Nuts. Peanut butter. Shrimp. Chocolate milk. Now those are some snacks I can live with. I have met my first goal. Yes, I now weigh less than 300 pounds. Last week I lost another 1.8 pounds putting me at a happy and still unhealthy 299.2 pounds. How was your week? You should be very pleased with yourself. Nice work! It's not easy to lose weight, harder still to change your mindset. I wholeheartedly congratulate you.
I, too, am going on a diet. Not really a diet, so much as teaching myself how to change my mindset and lifestyle. Ultimately, I'd like to lose weight. But cheifly, I want to be healthier. I am using the ADA 'divide your plate' suggestions. The website has several suggestions about how to portion food easily and what to eat and what to avoid. Looks fairly simple, which is great for me.
So, please have good thoughts for me, as I do you. May you be as successful as you hope to be.
