Master's Sunday at IU InvitationalPosted Sunday, April 11, 2010, at 7:06 PM
It's Master's Sunday, and we were about to begin our final round as well. Coach told us before the round to use what we've learned about the course to our advantage. With tricky greens, shot placement was key.
The team responded by posting our second lowest round of the spring season, 294. Yes, the coaches will be wearing skorts at the MAC championship! Brittany and I had under par rounds of 70 and 71, respectively. We did not putt well (32 putts each), but we hit a lot of greens (16 for BK and 15 for me). Kirsty had a nice round of 76, Kristtini stayed steady with a 77, and Katie had a solid round of 78. Heading into today's final round we were in 10th place as a team, and finished in 9th. Although we would have liked to finish higher, we improved each round on a challenging golf course. Brittany finished tied for 8th, good for her 5th straight top ten finish. Just one stroke behind, I placed T15th. A good finish to our regular season tournaments is important as we head into our final two weeks of practice. We will be working hard on the course and in the classroom as we prepare for the biggest tournament of the year. As we prepare for MAC, we'll be concentrating on our short games, as The Hawthorns is characterized by large, undulating, and FAST greens. The MAC Championship will be held at The Hawthorns in Fishers, Indiana, on April 23rd-25th. You can follow us on Golfstat.com the whole tournament. |
