Art of Sammye Dina Smith Showcased at CarnegiePosted Thursday, September 6, 2012, at 8:52 AM
Carnegie Heritage & Arts Center of Greene County is proud to showcase the art of Sammye Dina Smith.
Her solo show will be in the east gallery until October 15 with an opening reception at the Carnegie Friday September 7th from 5 to 7pm.
Sammye Dina Smith is a local artist who works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, yupo and pastel chalks.
She attended the Art Institute of Chicago, ISU, Waldron Art Center and has studied under Rod Crossmen, Jackie Frey, and Bruce Kell.
Her works have been exhibited in Bellevue Gallery, Bloomington Library, Monroe Bank, Gallery North, Baker Place Gallery and the Venue in Bloomington as well as Shawnee Theatre in Bloomfield, The Enwright Center in Ellettsville, Franklin Gallery of Fine Art in Franklin, Artworks of Martinsville, the Paint Box and Brown County Art Guild in Nashville, Indiana.
Several of her paintings have been published in the Sketchbook of Bloomington, adorned the cover of the Chamber of Commerce directory in Bloomington 2002 and featured as a Show Poster for the BBP of Bloomington, Indiana.
She is a also member of the Hoosier Salon, the Bloomington Watercolor Society and a 20 year patron of the Brown County Art Guild.
Her commissioned works hang in Loogootee, Bloomington, Martin County, Greene County, Indiana and New York, NY, and Salsburg, Austria.
