Wildlife Artist Trudy Calvert Opening at the Carnegie
Trudy Calvert of T-L-C Creations "Art from the Heart" is the featured wildlife artist in the Northeast Gallery at the Carnegie Heritage & Arts Center now through March 28th.
Opening reception is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The opening is one of the featured venues held in conjunction with the Marsh Madness Festival.
Trudy is a very successful artist whose clients extend from the West Coast to New England.
Her passionate love of nature is very evident in her art. Having grown up in a rural area she fell in love with the wildlife around her, rescuing and raising several injured and abandoned animals.
She previously taught art in the Bloomington public schools, and also has worked as an illustrator for greeting cards, editorial and children's books, one of which will be available for purchase at the opening. Do Animals Have Feelings, Too?, written by David Rice is an award winning book that features her illustrations.
Having previously served as President and Secretary of the Indiana Wildlife Artists, a group that promotes wildlife art as fine art, she currently is the Southern Chapter Representative.
Recently retiring as a Digital Graphic Designer from FBF, the largest manufacturer of patterned socks in the USA, she is now back in her studio creating wildlife art as well as illustrating and writing two children's books that she hopes to market soon.
Be sure to stop by the opening reception Saturday 10 am - 4 pm at the Carnegie, view this amazing wildlife show and meet the artist in person.
Donna is president and founder of the Carnegie Heritage & Arts Center of Greene County. She can be reached at www.mcklues@gmail.com .
