LeGrand's "Top Forty" Exhibit Opens at Carnegie Saturday
The solo show of award winning local artist Wyatt LeGrand is slated to open this Saturday, Dec. 12 from 5-8 p.m.
Wyatt is showcasing his "Top Forty" favorite paintings from 2015, including studio work, plein air paintings from across the country and all subjects.
His work has garnered him multiple awards and recognition. One example this past year was receiving the Outstanding Scene Award at the Annual Hoosier Salon exhibit.
As well as owning his own studio, LeGrand Art Studio and Gallery, he also passes on his knowledge and love of art to his students at Bloomfield Jr/Sr High School.
Wyatt says, "There's nothing too complicated about what I do; I only try to pay attention to what I see. Whether it be the colors of a landscape, the shapes of an interior space, or the movement of a busy street, my painting reflects the need to preserve desirable aesthetic experiences and communicate my human response to the subject before me. I say let things be spontaneous...paint what interests you, paint what confuses you, paint anything you wish as long as you paint more quickly than slowly, as the moment won't last forever."
In the "give art for the holidays" spirit, Wyatt is giving away only one giclee print of each of the forty favorite paintings on display to the first 40 visitors, but YOU CAN'T KEEP IT. You will be given an envelope, postage paid, for you to address ....but not to yourself, to someone you would like to give a gift of art for the holidays!
Wyatt no longer sells reproductions of his paintings, so the prints will be a great gift!
Opening reception with hors d'oevres is this Saturday, Dec. 12 from 5-8 p.m. at the Carnegie Heritage & Arts Center, 110 E. Vincennes in Linton.
Be sure you get to the opening early and not only view a show of incredible art, but if in the first 40 viewers receive a free print to give the gift of art to someone special to you.
Hope to see you there!
