Moonlight Films gallery this weekend at Carnegie
On Saturday, Oct. 13, the Carnegie Heritage and Arts Center will be featuring a gallery hosted by local filmmaking company Moonlight Films. The exhibit will be displayed to coincide with the Fall Arts Festival on Saturday and will be available to view until the end of October.
Moonlight Films was founded in 2008 by Linton residents James Ian Mair and James Stevenson. The duo, along with their dedicated cast and crew, have crafted over ten feature films, varying in genre and style. Their YouTube channel has reached over 1 million views and they have received positive feedback through various online websites and newspapers.
Mair handles directorial duties, as well as writing, producing and editing the films. Stevenson co-produces and handles all the on-set still photography. Deron Morgan is the lead makeup and special effects artists on the films, as well as a lead actor. Virgil Franklin, whom has over 50 film scores to his name, composes and conducts all the films’ music, as well as acts in the occasional film. Tara Bixler Powers stars as one of the leads in many of the company’s films and has been a very dedicated participant for many years. The company works with many, many talented performers who come from states all throughout the country, including Indiana, Tennessee, Maryland, California and New York to appear in the films.
Many of the Moonlight Films productions can be viewed in full on YouTube. DVDs of the films can be purchased on Amazon, as well as directly through Moonlight Films on their Facebook page.
The Carnegie gallery will consist of Moonlight’s official poster artworks, paintings for promotional use, a TV displaying select trailers and sneak peeks, props, memorabilia, costumes used in the films and much more.
Please stop in and see this unique and extraordinary show. You won’t want to miss this one!
