The next time you look in the mirror, see yourself as God sees youPosted Friday, March 2, 2012, at 8:46 AM
It's OK to be You!
"Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb. I thank you, High God -- you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration -- what a creation! You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day." (Psalm 139:13-16, MSG)
God has had His eye on you before you were even born. While in your mother's womb, He intricately and carefully knitted the formation of your life. He made every individual exceptional, paying close attention to every aspect, feature, and detail. There is no one else on earth like you. You are one of a kind. Yes, the human body is the most complex and unique being in the world. The elaborate details of your DNA or fingerprints cannot be duplicated. The Bible tells us that even the number of hairs on your head has been counted! (Luke 12:7).
Not only does God create your physical appearance, but He also creates a matchless plan and purpose for your life. God gave you your gifts and talents with intention. Do you realize that there are purposes on this earth that cannot be fulfilled by anyone else but you? You are part of God's plan.
The words "marvelously made" means properly to distinguish, to separate. We are created apart from any other creature on this earth. God's idea, when He created us was to make us suitable to inspire awe. It's unconceivable how the Creator of Heaven and Earth would stand back in "awe" of us and "marvel" at His best creation ... mankind. When God made you, He made a special display to His liking, quirkiness and all. Yes, sometimes it is even your imperfections that cause the Beholder to marvel.
So the next time you look in the mirror, see yourself as God sees you. Stand in awe of God's creation and say, "I am uniquely and wonderfully made!"
