Meditate on These Things
"For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].
Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you."

At times it may seem difficult to remain positive in a negative world. Constant reports of doom and gloom can easily drag us down. Soon thereafter, enjoying our jobs, friends, and family becomes increasingly complicated. So how can we remain positive and enjoy life in an unenthusiastic world?
It begins with your thoughts. What are you constantly thinking? Turn things over in your mind. Interesting how contemplation works. The more we meditate on the positive things in our life, the more we become filled with joy (despite of the negative circumstances around us). To meditate means to think about something earnestly. Through prayer and thanksgiving, our hearts and minds can be transformed. Almost immediately, you will see that much of your stress and anxiety will dissipate. Don't waste your time and energy on being negative.
Here are a few tips on being positive:
Acknowledge your dependence on a God that is just in every area of your life.
Become a volunteer or do charity work. When you see the positive changes that you can make in someone's life, it will bring positivity into your life too.
Smile. Do you realize that psychologists say that your body becomes familiar with the emotions that are associated with a smile? Smiling boosts our immune system, makes us feel happy, and makes us look more attractive. All great reasons to "put on a happy face"!
So what do you plan to meditate on today? Is it the doom and gloom of the things of this world? Or is it the pure and lovable things? Today, choose to smile and meditate on the positive things in your life.
