Santa will arrive in Linton later this month

Posted Thursday, November 8, 2012, at 12:54 PM

The Holiday season is already upon us and once again we are looking forward to a festive Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Santa will be visiting Linton at the Santa House, located on N. Main Street at the Rotary Park, starting the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Come share your wish list with Santa on Nov. 24 from 1-5 p.m.

Santa will also be there on Dec. 8 from 2-5 p.m., Dec 15 from 6-8 p.m., and Dec. 16 from 2-7 p.m. with hot chocolate and coffee and Dec. 22 from 1-4 p.m.

Our members are also busy with the upcoming season, including Veteran's Day:

Anderson-Poindexter generously hosts a Veteran's Day service each year to honor our esteemed local veterans. This year's service, on Monday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m., will honor those who have served with patriotism and pride.

A&E Salvage & Green Geek Recycling are encouraging all to keep Greene County green by cleaning up and bringing your recyclable items at the first ever "Linton Recycles Day" on Nov. 17 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at A&E Salvage on CR 250 N in Linton.

Bring your electronic waste, i.e., TVs, computers, monitors, DVD players, etc. for Green Geek Recycling. Turn your scrap for CASH -- items such as aluminum cans, tin cans, appliances, cars (with title), copper items and more.

A&E strives to be a one-stop recycling shop and will also be accepting household recyclables such as cardboard, plastic, newspaper, batteries and more.

Glenburn Home is hosting its Thanksgiving meal pitch-in dinner (cost $3) on Nov. 20 at 11:30 a.m. and also its Greene County on Aging pitch-in dinner on Nov. 27 at 11:30 a.m. (meat is provided).

Also, sign up for the Derby Dinner Theatre trip on Dec. 4. Call 847-3509 for more information.

Pleasant Grove Farm in Lyons debuts its 2012 Christmas Lights Musical on Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. Hours are nightly Dec. 9-26 from 6-8 p.m. for the Traditional Show and Dec. 9-26 from 8-10 p.m. for a Contemporary Show.

Also, a Patriotic Show will be nightly from Dec. 27-Jan. 1 from 6-10 p.m.

Make this a family tradition to stop by during one of these holiday evenings to enjoy this musical light holiday show.

Visit your community businesses first this holiday season and promote local loyalty!
