Giant Candy Land--Video TourPosted Monday, November 7, 2011, at 12:39 PM
I just wanted to share a project that our family was involved in this weekend.
My husband pastors a small Assembly of God church in Clay City and our children are involved with us in the ministry. This last week we had our annual Fall Festival, and the main attraction was a life-sized Candy Land game. The kids and I traced the characters from the classic Milton-Bradley board game onto pieces of Styrofoam, cut them out with a hot knife, and painted them. With my husband's help, we strung a grid of fishing line up high in the gym at our church and hung all of the characters on them. We made the squares for the path out of construction paper and decorated around each of the characters. About 20 kids came and played our game and won prizes for landing on the special characters. We had other attractions, too, such as bounce houses, crafts, and carnival games, but the Candy Land game was our pride and joy. I took a video of it so all of you could see what it looked like. I hope you enjoy it! Check it out at:
