Titles are always changing, evolving
Posted Friday, July 1, 2016, at 5:05 PMAs we go through life, titles will always be a part of growing and becoming the person you're going to be in this great big world. I started out with the titles of daughter and granddaughter. As I grew, those titles stayed true, but I added a few more: Student, teammate, best friend, girlfriend, graduate, college student, journalism major, Ball State University Alumna, fiancé, wife, aunt, daughter-in-law, business professional, avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Colts fanatic, book lover, fur parent... -
When women uplift women
Posted Friday, March 4, 2016, at 2:12 PM1I want to take just a minute and share with you something that has really weighed heavy on my mind. In today's society, women feel as if they are expected to be a size 2. They feel a need to meet expectations of having a perfectly contoured face, be up on all the latest fashion trends, and have everything "on fleek" in order to be perceived as beautiful or having worth in the eyes of their peers... -
Marrying my best friend, and all the fun of being a newlywed
Posted Friday, February 19, 2016, at 8:45 PMOn Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m., this gal married her best friend. And it was perfect! I told you all in my last column that our anniversary was on the sixteenth, and after seven months of being engaged and doing little to no planning what-so-ever, Jordan and I decided to throw a wedding together in five days... -

I like the idea of taking a day and making it all about love. I guess that's the hopeless romantic in me. But then again, I think that love should be celebrated every day and not just on one particular day... -
New Year's Resolutions are not for me
Posted Monday, January 4, 2016, at 5:02 PMAs we enter into 2016, there are a lot of big things headed my way. This year, I get to marry the love of my life. I'll change my last name. And I'm sure I'll make memories to last a lifetime. But if there is one thing I know about myself, it's that I will never make a "new year's resolution."... -
We are all home for the holidays
Posted Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 8:52 AMGrowing up, I always loved the period of time from Thanksgiving to New Year's. With my all time favorite being December and Christmas time. If ever I was lost in a department store or the local Walmart, my parents knew right were to find me, laying in the Christmas tree displays looking at all the pretties... -
Some things in life always feel 'just right'
Posted Friday, December 11, 2015, at 8:15 AMI started writing at a young age. So young, in fact, that I don't remember a time where I didn't have journals stashed around my room, in my school desk and stowed away in a backpack zipper. There was always a feeling of comfort that came from putting a pen to paper and just letting words flow on to the sheet...
