Sweater weather is better weather
Finally, Fall!
My favorite season for more than one reason (I am such a poet today!), Fall is the time of year for me when I am most comfortable, I get to wear layers, leaves crunch under my feet and I get older!
Wait, that last part I’m not so fond of..........
I am, however, very fond of Halloween. It happens to be my wedding anniversary, costumes and makeup are encouraged for days long, and candy, candy everywhere!
I’ve always loved the creativity of Halloween, in the decorations, the costumes, the jack-o-lanterns, it is by far my favorite holiday. I usually have my costume ideas narrowed down to two or three by the end of September.
The coolest thing this year is that I get to dress up at least twice! Once for taping our Halloween episode of Greene Gab, and again the following Monday.
Most people at the newspaper office know what I’m going to be, since I get excited and have to reveal it to people like it’s a big important thing (it is to me).
For 10 years after our wedding, my husband John and I would have a big Halloween party, with a different theme every year, and our friends would dress according to that year’s theme (my favorites were Punk Wizard of Oz and Circus of the Strange). We called it our “Dannerversary,” and in a word, each was EPIC in its own way. Halloween rules.
Have a fun and safe Halloween, and if you wind up with any pesky leftover candy-I like chocolate-please drop it off at 79 South Main Street, and I will see that it is properly disposed of. Thank you.
