Inquiring minds want to know
I’ve got some questions. They are questions that have been on the table for this past week. An inquiring mind wants to know.
Why bend it? When my husband gets a new baseball-style hat, he must first bend it, practically breaking it in half. He even taught my nephew how to break in a new hat. Why bend a new hat to the point of almost breaking? A woman would just put the hat on her head.
What happened to 2020? Somehow this year just slipped by very slowly and not a lot of visitations of friends or family.
Why answer the phone? At least three times a day the telephone rings with someone offering me another credit card, wanting to clean carpet or better insurance coverage. Thank you, no; I don’t need new windows or siding either.
Where are Lewis and Clark when I need them? I could always stop and find a map on my phone, but early in the morning at the McDonald’s restaurant, anyone wearing bib overalls and drinking coffee could always locate the address I was looking for.
Another person’s trash is another person’s treasure? I was behind a lady driving a Mazda and watched as she stopped for the light near Main Street in Linton. She opened her car door, reached outside her car and picked up an empty wrapper that had been tossed in the middle of the street.
Aren’t they always working? Driving on US 41 toward Terre Haute, can you remember a time when they were not working on the highway? A construction crew of women would have had that road finished years ago.
Who else but me? Don’t look at me funny, as I park the blue Acura crooked in the parking lots downtown. My father taught me how to park. “Pay no attention to those painted lines,” he said. When you see me, just say “Hi Nancee,” or even “Hi Blondie” but don’t tell me I’m parked crooked. I know that.
