Happy Labor Day
The Labor Day weekend officially marks the end of summer. The weekend will be packed with last minute summer fun – boating, picnics, cookouts and family get-togethers.
My nephew has the days counted down until Christmas vacation, while his mother is busy counting down the days until his last day of school.
Families can still take advantage of the city’s park. Picnic tables, tennis courts, basketball courts, horse-shoes or playground equipment.
Perhaps a quick game of miniature golf.
The last holiday weekend before the winter months – don’t spend them indoors watching videos.
There is more traffic on the road this weekend than any other throughout the year.
Statistics show many people will be traveling an average of 100 miles away from home for the extended weekend.
We have opted to stay at home this Labor Day weekend.
No matter what your plans are. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day holiday. Nancee Harrison is a past columnist for the Greene County Daily World.
