Getting ready for the Easter Bunny
It is that time of year again, and are the people in Greene County getting ready for planting gardens? Race Day? Spring cleaning? Heck NO, we’re getting ready for the Easter Bunny.
What April would be complete without an Easter egg hunt? A word to the wise: go prepared. One year, I took my nephew and forgot to take a container. The poor little guy had to hunt eggs and stick them in his pockets.
In addition to the Easter egg hunts, numerous Easter baskets around town will be filled with jelly beans and Hershey kisses.
I have been hinting to the hubby that while any gift would be appreciated, I think flowers might be nice. Something that will bloom forever, just like our love. I’m afraid if I plant the seeds of romance that is what I might end up with: a package of seeds.
I must admit, the notion that the Easter Bunny comes and brings eggs is a tad puzzling. Santa Claus I can understand. However, why on a Sunday, when families and churches make a special effort to celebrate Christ, do we have a big cuddly rabbit come and leave you colored eggs he has laid?
Regardless, Easter is here and soon we will be giving and receiving lots of candy and gifts. Let’s hope the Easter Bunny brings a little spring shower and not a snow shower in his Easter basket.
