Summer of soccer betting
If you think there is nothing to do in Greene County then I have the activity for you.
Betting on soccer games.
I am addicted to it. Yes, your sports editor has a gambling problem.
Sports betting is something I have tinkered with the past two and half years. Soccer has become my best bet. It has the best odds. The reason for that are ties in soccer. A tie in a sporting event might go against American values but tie games represent American capitalism in my book. With three possible outcomes for every game, the odds are better than a sport with just two.
I do fine in college football but the NFL and NBA are tough to predict. Major League Soccer and the USL Championship, which features the Indy Eleven in our state, are easier to forecast. You can tell when a game is changing.
I subscribed to ESPN plus this summer for the first time in two years just to bet on soccer. I bounce from game to game as they go final. It’s perfect for young dads who have a crying baby to take care of. West Coast soccer is my friend when waiting for my kid to go to sleep.
Since late June, I’ve made over $500 betting on the two main American soccer leagues. Beats the heck out of investing in crypto. With that said, I took a hit in other sports the past year. In 54 months of betting I am up just $50 dollars so don’t expect much. At least it’s a better bet than a lottery ticket.
If you haven’t put a few dollars on a soccer game yet, I encourage you to give it a whirl. If you are betting on MLS games then you and me should hang out sometime.
