I’ll get to it sometime
Y’all know I love crafting. I love new projects and creating things. But the problem with this is I end up with the dreaded “to be finished” pile of crafts.
A set of end tables that I never got around to painting both of, a blanket I’ve been working on for years but still haven’t finished. Even another end table I purchased at a flea market with the intention of re-doing that I haven’t gotten around to yet.
Oops.
The ideas are amazing when I come across them. A welcome sign out of a shutter? Uh, yeah! Crochet stuffed Highland cows? Sign me up! But finally complete an afghan I’ve had in progress for what feels like a decade? Still not there yet.
And it bugs me, truly. I know it’ll look fabulous once it’s finished but I swear, every time I go to work on it, something goes wrong. The stitches are off. The row is uneven. I find a missed stitch a few rows back. Friggin’ Murphy’s Law of blankets right there.
You’d think with all this stuff to do, I’d stay away from finding others that strike my fancy, but no. Have Pinterest, will pin.
Sometimes I need a little project that will come together quickly, so I make things like little sting rays and a witch hat for a friend’s cat. Other times I need a challenge, and I set out to make cows and blankets and a Christmas tree skirt and a stuffed Bluey.
My Pinterest boards may be bountiful, my yarn stash may be chaotic, and I may have been cut off from buying more furniture to re-do. But I will accomplish it all sometime.
