Buhneing wants to give back to Bloomfield communityPosted Friday, December 12, 2008, at 7:50 AM
If you work with computers all day, the last thing you probably want to do is go home and do more of the same.
Not Chris Buhneing. He loves working with computers and designing Web sites, and he's turned that passion into a hobby that he hopes will help the town of Bloomfield. Buhneing, who owns CSR Computers in Bloomfield, has designed the Web site www.bloomfieldin.com with the idea that it will help promote his town. The Web site is named Welcome to Bloomfield, Indiana. "This town has always been good to me, and been good to my kids. My kids graduated from here, and this is my way of giving something back to the community," Buhneing explained. "Physically wise I can't get out and do things I used to be able to do. This way I can give back." Buhneing isn't out to make tons of money with his new Web site. He wants to give back, not become rich. He believes community members should volunteer their time and efforts any way they can to make life better for everyone. "I'm not asking anything for this site, it's completely free," Buhneing said. "The whole idea of it is, Bloomfield has never had a Web site so I sat down one day to do this. ... It's kind of a hobby. I do Web design ... I own my own servers. I don't charge anything for the site, and I won't charge anything for the site. I take my spare time to do this. I won't make it a business, and it's a hobby because I like to do research." The site wasn't built to compete with other area Web sites. He offers history about Bloomfield, lists local businesses, schools, resources, churches, cemeteries, and other items. He plans to add more as time goes along. Buhneing takes particular pride in the cemeteries portion of the Web site. "I was talking to a lady at town hall and they said they had no idea how many cemeteries we had in Greene County," Buhneing recalled. "I love to do research, and I think I came up with most of them." Buhneing moved to Greene County from Indianapolis, and lived in Linton for seven years before moving to Bloomfield. He's been in Bloomfield for 10 years. Four of his five kids are Bloomfield High School graduates, and one is still in high school. Buhneing isn't in the business of providing everyday news and sports, and that's why he asked the Greene County Daily World if he could provide his on-line readers with a link to the newspaper's Web site on his Web site. As of last week, the link was available. A link to Buhneing's Web site is available on the newspaper's Web site. If you would like more information about Buhneing's new Web site, he can be reached by telephone at 384-8650 or by e-mail at chris@bloomfieldin.com . Can someone send me a log or send me more info on the attack, I have never had anything like that happen to me and no one has emailed me on this problem.
I have checked it on 4 deferent computers and did a full server scan and all came up clean.
Thanks

clicked on the link and it came up as a blank page and then anti virus popped up saying there was an attempted attack on my computer. So looks like someone may have hacked into his site.
Thanks, Chris
