MORE RANDOM THOUGHTSPosted Friday, October 5, 2007, at 10:38 PM
After my last bunch of random thoughts generated so much interest, I thought I'd try again.
1. If my yard gets any drier, I'm afraid President Bush may start a war in it. 2. It's been rumored that Goodwill got a bunch of sleeveless t-shirts in. They are going to put them in the golf sportswear section and call it the Blake Montgomery collection. It is right across the aisle from the Curt Hatton collection - where the shorts meet the socks. 3. In response to the person that said Joey never broke 120 on the golf course - I'd like you to know that one year he won the last flight of the Greene County Open with an astounding 103... But it's rumored he poisoned his opponent's seeing eye dog. 4. Congrats to the Turkey Run Warriors who won their first football game in 3 years - defeating Covington on the road. 5. How many times do you sit in line at the drive through and when its finally time to order your passenger goes brain dead. And speaking of drive throughs...The last time I went through one I ordered my food and beverage - paid the cashier, got my Diet Coke and promptly drove to all the way to Bloomfield before realizing I didn't wait for my food! The drive by thing has happend to most of us... Then again what happens most is the place forgets to put stuff in the sack they give me ;( lol
I think about the only thing that isn't dry anymore is Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan.
I think your yard is safe unless you're sitting on a substantial crude oil deposit.
"I do not personally know Mr. Hart, but I do question his judgement to belittle our President (Commander in Chief), and in so doing, our troops in a time of war."
A tongue-in-cheek snide remark about W's penchant for unjust bloodshed is in no way tied to NOT supporting American troops.
In fact, my desire to support our young soldiers to the utmost is enough drive for me to do everything in my power (i.e. vote in 2008) to make sure someone like George W. Bush never comes into power ever again.
Let's not get too carried away here, and construe what's not meant to be.
Ummmm, didn't congress vote for the war overwhelmingly? Why is everyone now pointing at the president? Shouldn't you also be pointing at your elected congressmen?
Ah yes, I'd love to see that video of all the members of congress singing "God Bless America" after 9/11. How soon we forget!!
I have struggled with grammatical errors and poor sentence structure since I was a wee lad in Lewis, so I doubt that I shall participate in this type of forum. I just don't think that I can handle the intense scrutiny, plus I just don't feel very good.
If this is such a popular war why don't we reenstate the draft and share all the glory. I may be wrong, but I think Joe like me is an old Marine who has been on the business end of an AK 47. I don't think I would want to question his patriotism.
Wars are never deemed popular by those who fight them nor by those who lose loved ones. We seldom pay much attention to history when we get involved in these wars. One would have thought that a war as recent as Vietnam would have had a more profound effect on our current politicians. Back then it took over 58,000 dead young American soldiers to see that we couldn't win. Winning a war like this, when fought in this manner, is not possible.
Now we are involved in another great civil war, not fighting communism, but fighting muslim religious fanatics in a war that will never end. Our politicians have neglected their history lessons.
