I'm Baaaaaaack

Posted Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at 7:42 PM

I wasn't going to blog again until the Lions won a game, but I don't think that's going to happen. But here we go again with some random thoughts.

Since my retirement I've become more domesticated and doing laundry has really become an adventure. There's some guy that keeps getting into my dryer turning all my clothes inside out and stealing my socks. Could this be the same guy who regulates gas prices in Bloomfield, keeping them 25 cents higher than anyplace else in southern Indiana? (I'd like to find that guy in my dryer).

Did you ever notice when you're playing golf and having a really bad round, invariably you will hit a nice shot on the 18th hole to keep you coming back.

Wouldn't it be nice if all school superintendents could put their board members on a bus and take them to Terre Haute to the Holiday Inn Express.

To all of you long-suffering Cub fans. Look on the bright side, you got to see 3 more games this year than my beloved Tigers.

Good luck to cross country runners Jennifer Hughes, Drew Gambill, Casey Fougerousse, and Julie Riggins at the semi-state.

Good luck to the Miners as they make the trip south to Tecumseh for a battle of undefeated teams. Also good luck to Dugger as they host West Washington. Dugger went undefeated on the road but lets hope they defend the home turf.

Also, good luck to volleyball teams in the area in their sectionals as well.

We've been flooded with ads from the presidential candidates. I find some of them amusing. For instance, one ad states that Obama has no executive experience -- but how much experience does McCain have in that chair? McCain may not have anymore executive experience, but he can hit from the front tees at Phil Harris.

On a serious note, regardless of which candidate you support, you need to get out and vote. Myself, I'm going to try to vote 5 times.

I hope the school superintendents would spend the night at the Holiday Inn Express as well. Don't know if it is close enough to a golf course for most superintendents in Greene County though.
