Nice job meat.
There were a lot of comments after my last article about this subject, so this will be a short piece on the Hall of Fame Weekend at Rose Hulman. First, let me say that Rose Hulman Institute of Technology is a real class organization and I was impressed with their presentation of the induction ceremonies.

Matt made an excellent speech, which was both reverent and humorous (believe it or not). He had a few of us in the back row very near tears when he spoke of his mother. I thought he made one of the best quotes that I have ever heard. I'm not sure of the exact text of the quote, but it went something like this, "If there were a Hall of Fame for Mothers, she'd be in on the first ballot."

It was a nice weekend at Terre Haute with family and friends and I'm real glad that I was there.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be posting two more of the Ol' Simmons history articles. I have been extremely busy reading a few books lately on a pair of interesting subjects. I hope that you shall find both of these as interesting as I have. You can expect to see the first one before this weekend.

Farewell to the House That Ruth Built from an old Yankee fan. It is hard to see a place torn down that was home to 26 World Championship teams. I imagine that we'll just start winning more Championships across the street next year.

Impressive stats, but I guess they'd have to be to get in the HoF. Plus a degree in Electrical Engineering, excels at public speaking and honors his Mother! A true Renaissance man.

Enjoyed seeing the Yankee Stadium tribute last night, the Yankees' tradition is second to none and they do know how to highlight their tradition.

Here's hoping your prediction is an accurate one.

Keith, ITs obvious that Matt had two great parents. Congrats to a great friend on his Hall of Fame weekend, and congrats to you for his accomplishments. It was very obvious at the Big Mac of how proud you were of him.

This photo was taken before Sims the Younger discovered the burrito.
