National VFW Commander-in-Chief visits Worthington post on Saturday

National VFW Commander-in-Chief William "Bill" Thien, of Georgetown, IN, made a brief stop at Worthington Post 7117 on Saturday afternoon as part of a 35 post stop tour in the next four days. He was accompanied by Indiana State VFW Commander Greg Baker, several other state officials, as well as Department of Indiana 7th District Commander Ken Stalcup, who hails from Worthington. The VFW dignitaries were escorted from the Crane VFW Post to the Worthington gathering by Greene County Sheriff Terry Pierce and GCSD Chief Deputy Major Mike Hasler. Commander-in-Chief spoke to a gathering inside the post about his activities and Congressional lobbying efforts in Washington D.C. to preserve veterans' rights and benefits.The VFW sports 7000 posts nation-wide and serves 1.9 million members from headquarters in Kansas City, MO.
