At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Greene County Veterans Service Officer Richard Nichols rang the bell on the Greene County Courthouse lawn. Nichols struck the bell 21 times in the area of the bell representing the 11 o'clock position, a special presentation in honor of the 100th anniversary of the World War 1 Armistice.
