International bird expert visits Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area

One of the Midwest's premier birdwatching locations -- Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area near Linton -- hosted a recognized international bird expert on Friday morning. Scott Lin, Ph.D., Associate Researcy Fellow and Division Chief of Habitats and Ecocystems for the Endemic Species Research Institute in Taiwan, was taken on a two-hour guided tour of much of the 8,000 acres Goose Pond FWA property, owned by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Lin was accompanied by John Chuang, at Taiwan native living in Vincennes who a member of the Asia-America Alliance; and Ernie Wu, president of the Taiwanese American Business Association of Indianapolis. Linton Mayor Patti Jones, Linton City Council member Linda Bedwell, District 39 State Senator John Waterman (R-Shelburn) and District 45 State Representative Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) also participated in the tour.
