Bloomfield tennis wins second match in 24 hours

Bloomfield girls tennis team improved their season record to 2-1 with a 5-0 win over host Washington Catholic Thursday afternoon. In singles, the Cardinals lost only one game in the singles sweep. Kylee Shelton took down Jenny Lopez 6-0, 6-1 at the first singles position. At the No. 2 singles spot Brooklyn Bucher beat Maria Jose-Vicente 6-0, 6-0 while Emma Vaught downed Stephanie Montoya 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. The doubles team of Gracie Lowry and Thaida Uland took out Maergaret Bassler 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. In the second doubles position Kinley Moody and Lucy Allen had a difficult first set but pulled together and beat Molly Brown and Mya Cline 7-5, 6-0. The Cardinals will play their home opener Friday to take on South Knox in a 5:30 contest.
