Mark graduated with a degree in heating and cooling, and he worked for the city of Bloomington in maintenance for 12 years. He was a member of the Switz City Christian Church. Surviving relatives include his children Heather (Jason) Chesnut of Lyons, Justin "Norm" (Jayme) Porter of Bloomfield; one half-daughter Megan Porter of Martinsville; four grandchildren, Bailee Chesnut and Micah Chesnut both of Lyons, and Ayden Porter and Madison Fleetwood both of Bloomfield; two brothers Greg (MJ) Porter of Newberry and Bruce (Carla) Porter of Switz City; his mother Delores Porter Sweeny of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd W. Porter and one sister-in-law, Linda Porter. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and 9 a.m. on Thursday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Ralph Roach officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
