He was a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post 172, Clay City VFW Post 6606. Jim led a very full and wonderful life. From 1951-55 he was in the Navy during the Korean War. Jim was a boilmaker on the USS Kersarge and USS Boxer. Jim was a wonderful man who loved and was loved by his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. He is on his way to Glory! Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville with visitation scheduled from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral service is at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Messmer and Pastor Tracy Hamilton officiating. Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville with military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Veterans Home; 3851 N. River RD; West Lafayette, Ind., 47906-3762 and envelopes are available at the funeral home.
