Summerville honored for serving

Indiana National Guard Spec. Joe Summerville, a member of the 1-152nd Alpha Company based in Linton, was honored for his 13 months of military service as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom at Saturday's 40th Annual Scotland Festival. Summerville, a 2001 Bloomfield High School graduate who hails from near Scotland, was presented an American Flag from the Scotland Historical Society and the Festival Committee as a token of the community's appreciation and thanks for the part he played during his deployment to the Middle East earlier this year.. ...

FRANKFORT ---- The Linton-Stockton Miners bounced back in week 5 to defeat the Clinton Prairie Gophers, 34-0, after suffering a 14-0 setback in week 4 to the West Vigo Vikings. The win for Linton ends a four-year contract between the schools. It was also the first time the road team was victorious in the series.
