A plane crash at Shawnee Field late Wednesday afternoon sent a Bloomfield man to Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis by Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter. Sten Walls, 60, of rural Bloomfield, was taking off in his experimental aircraft around 4 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, the plane failed to lift off.
