The Linton boys and girls track teams were victorious in competition at Loogootee Thursday. The boys rolled up 103.5 points as they defeated Washington, Loogootee and North Daviess. The Linton Junior High girls track and field team narrowly placed second in a meet at Shakamak Monday. Owen Valley won with 43 points, Linton had 42.5 points and Shakamak was a close third at 41.5. For Linton, Alex Daluga won the high jump with an effort of four feet, four inches. Daluga was clocked at 13.84 seconds in winning the 100. After a lengthy joint investigation, Michael R. Frederick, 53, of Third Street Southwest, Linton, was arrested on five counts of forgery, all Class C felonies, and one count of check deception, a Class A misdemeanor. An arrest warrant was issued for Frederick on April 5 in Greene County Superior Court. He was arrested around 9:30 a.m. on April 5 by Linton Patrol Officer Debbie McDonald and transported to Greene County jail by LPD Reserve Officer Kyle Butler. He's being held on $50,000 bond...
