Congratulations are in order to Bloomfield, Linton, Shakamak and WRV as they posted season opening victories. These teams start banging heads against each other soon. It will be interesting to see who rises to the top. Joe Hart is the former boys basketball coach at Union and led the Bulldogs to the 1999-2000 class A title game. He was born in Linton on Jan. 30, 1923, the son of Wayne and Lillie (Hollingsworth) Thomas. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and retired from the Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis.
