It was nice to see the freshmen mentoring program in action this week at Eastern Greene. The program allows select upperclassmen to act as mentors to freshman in order to help ease the transition into high school. While there, I also noticed upperclassmen giving pointers to freshmen on what teachers were tough, which class requirements were necessary to graduate, and other basic school rules. That's pretty basic stuff necessary for high school survival that many freshmen may not know...
