Kim Flynn will retain the Lyons clerk/treasurer's position, as she won her race by three votes in Tuesday's election. Flynn, a Republican, defeated Democrat challenger Laurel Edmonson 81 to 78. Flynn finds her job both challenging and exciting. She intends to keep up the "good works" of the town council...

Hot coffee or chocolate, campfires, spicy hot chili, roasted marshmallows, blankets, gloves and caps were essential fare on a very cold day at the polls Tuesday. Incumbent Nigel Lehman, a Democrat, topped Republican Jon Hineman in a 249 to 105 vote for a spot on the Linton City Council in Tuesday's District 7 race. This will be the fourth term for Lehman who has served on the council since 1995. Lehman said, "It's a great feeling to win another four years and I found Mr. Jon Hineman to be a fine, outstanding, young man."...

It's been 27 years since a Republican has been seated as mayor in Linton. Republican Kelly Foglesong had high hopes going into Tuesday's election of being able to change the long-time Democrat lock on the city administration. It's four more years for Linton Mayor Tom Jones, as he defeated Republican Kelly Foglesong in Tuesday's mayoral election. Jones picked up 1,063 votes, while Foglesong finished with 641. Judith Ann Blann, 61, of Linton, passed away at 8:34 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington.
